Downloads are the part of game research where bad information costs people the most time, so this page is deliberately blunt about one thing: The Magus Circle is not free.

Those are the developer’s published figures rather than a measured install. Two caveats worth knowing:
- Linux requires roughly four times the space of the other platforms in the published spec, which is unusual and may reflect bundled runtime libraries.
- The game has grown. The Early Access listing describes more content than the June 2026 Steam copy did, including additional upgrades and hub activities, so the launch build may exceed these numbers.
Either way, this is a small install by modern standards — it will not force you to clear your drive.
Where to download it
Two routes exist, and only one of them works today.
STOVE Early Access — available now. A Korean PC games platform sells the game in Early Access, live since 24 August 2026. This is paid, and the developer states it is priced below the official launch price. See the price page for current figures and the promotional window.
Steam — from September 24, 2026. This is the primary release. The store page is currently listed as coming soon, so the game cannot be added to a library or downloaded in advance. There is no pre-load information published.
What does not exist: no standalone installer, no official first-party launcher, no itch.io release, no Epic release, and no subscription-service listing. If a page offers you a direct download outside Steam or STOVE, it is not an official route.
About the “free download” claims
Several pages covering this game claim it is free, or that it has been free. Those claims conflict with the store data, which reports the game as paid with no free offering.
Where the confusion likely comes from: the Steam demo was free during February 2026’s Next Fest. It has since been delisted and can no longer be downloaded. A page written during the demo window and never updated would still describe a free option that has not existed for months.
We say this plainly because “free download” is usually the phrase people search right before installing something they should not. There is no free route to this game, and any free download offered outside the two storefronts is unofficial.
Steam account and platform requirements
The Steam version runs through Steam, so a Steam account is required, along with the Steam client. The STOVE version runs through STOVE. Both are ordinary desktop platform installs — there is no separate game account to register and no third-party launcher to install alongside.

- Check the requirements first. The system requirements page covers all three platforms, including a minimum Windows version caveat that catches people out.
- Expect performance tuning to matter. Roughly 7% of review themes from the February 2026 demo mentioned lag or crashes during high-action moments. If your machine is near the minimum, plan to lower effects.
- The demo route is closed. If you specifically wanted to try before buying, the demo page explains what happened and what replaced it.
